Athletics have been a cornerstone of my life since my early days. As I progressed through high school and college athletics, my passion for strength training, human movement and performance grew. This passion ultimately guided me to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.
In my adulthood I found a new challenge with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). Inspired by the sport’s demands on strength, mobility, and stamina- BJJ underscored the importance of blending Physical Therapy principles with strength training, solidifying my path as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, specializing in sports and concussion rehabilitation.
The idea of “The Lab” was born from these experiences—a training space that started in my parents’ basement with a Craigslist weight set. Over time, it grew into a 1000 sq/ft facility within Lōkahi Jiu Jitsu Collective, evolving into a community hub where innovation and passion meet. Today, The Lab isn’t just a gym; it’s a platform to share knowledge, experiment with new techniques, and empower others on their fitness journeys.

The Lab offers a complete strength training playground with full open gym access. You will enjoy convenient Kisi door access from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm daily. Lōkahi’s deluxe locker room combines the comfort of a commercial gym with the privacy of a private facility. Embrace a unified and exceptional training experience under one roof without having to choose between the gym and Jiu Jitsu.
1on1 Hybrid Coaching
Get precise training with 1-on-1 hybrid coaching led by Cole Johnston PT, DPT.
